Lindsey M. Deeb, APRN, CNP

Lindsey received her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of California San Francisco. Her special interests include behavioral health, adolescent health care, and childhood obesity.

Lindsey's past pediatric experience includes several years working with behaviorally and emotionally challenged children and adolescents, and several years working as an RN and case manager for children with cancer and heart problems.

Originally from the Midwest, Lindsey now lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two children. Lindsey believes in family centered health promotion and prevention and is excited to follow in the footsteps of her mother-in-law, Dr. Jane Van Roekel, the founder of Dakota Pediatric Clinic.


Michelle Ohnstad, DNP, APRN, CNP

Michelle is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Minnesota. She also has a certificate in Disability Policy and Services and is a Certified Lactation Educator. Her special interests include preventative care, underserved populations, breastfeeding support, and children with congenital heart disease. Michelle’s past pediatric experience includes several years as a Registered Nurse at Children's Hospital of Minnesota where she cared for patients in the cardiac intensive care unit.

Michelle enjoys seeing patients of all ages; from the adorable smiles of an infant, the curiosity of a toddler, and the excitement of a school-ager, all the way to the fierce independence of an adolescent/young adult. They all bring so much to Michelle's practice and for that she is grateful. Her dream is to someday be treating the children of former patients who have graduated from her care.

Michelle lives in south Minneapolis with her husband, 2 children, and black lab. They love spending their time enjoying all that south Minneapolis and the twin cities has to offer including the parks, hiking/biking trails, outdoor concerts, and local breweries.


Brett Mortenson, DNP, APRN, CNP

Brett is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, with a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of Arizona, in Tucson. Brett enjoys caring for children of all ages. His goal is to help children and families lead healthy and well-rounded lives. This includes being an advocate for mental and physical health.

Brett is originally from Shoreview, MN. He spent many years working in San Diego, California and recently returned to Minnesota because he believes Minnesota is the best place to raise children. Currently he and his wife live in Woodbury, with their two children. His best days are spent playing outside with his family. He also enjoys biking, camping, hiking or just playing inside with Legos or dolls with the kids!


Jenny Whitney, APRN, CNP

Jenny is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has cared for children and adolescents in school, hospital and clinic settings. Most recently she was at a Walk-in-Clinic & Urgent Care setting. While Jenny enjoys seeing patients of all ages, her special clinical interests include care of newborns & infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. She has a genuine love in educating parents and patients. Jenny believes strongly in patient & family centered care and enjoys watching her patients develop and grow.

Jenny's past pediatric experience includes several years as a Registered Nurse working in Special Care Nursery, intensive care nursing, and working with children who are mentally and physically handicapped.

Jenny lives in Apple Valley with her husband and son. She enjoys spending her free time traveling with her family and going on new adventures. When she is home her son keeps her busy with his active imagination and playing with everything! She also likes cooking, swimming, being outdoors or just relaxing.


Amber Benson, APRN, CNP

Amber is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science degree from Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska. She is also a Certified Breastfeeding Educator. Despite holding a Family Nurse Practitioner certification, Amber has spent her entire post-master’s career working in pediatric primary care. Her professional interests including lactation education, asthma care, acute illness, and new parent education. Amber enjoys building strong relationships with patients and their families, and she believes in collaborating with parents to provide the best-individualized care for their children.

Amber’s past nursing experience includes working many years as an intensive care and medical surgical nurse. Most recently she has worked in pediatric primary care, providing well and illness care to newborns through young adults.

Amber currently lives in St. Michael with her husband David, 3 children (Molly, Drew and Graham), and their regal beagle Bruno. When not busy shuttling kids to after school sports and activities, Amber is an avid Husker and MN sports fan. She enjoys traveling, movies, good food, and the outdoors.
